Private Classes

Prenatal classes are provided in the privacy of your own home, tailored to your unique needs and interests, and convenient to your schedule.

Childbirth Education

Learn all about what to expect in childbirth, how to prepare for your own birth, and how to have a satisfying, empowering birth experience. I teach you how to advocate for yourself, how to talk with your healthcare team, and how to optimize your environment to achieve your goals. We will cover comfort measures, breathing, positioning, and techniques to make your labor shorter, safer, and more comfortable, no matter your goals!

Preparing to Breastfeed

Knowing is half the battle! Learn what to expect and gain the know-how and tools to successfully nurse your little one with confidence. Know how to latch and position your baby to avoid nipple soreness and other common obstacles. I cover all the "booby traps" and other mistakes to avoid. Understand how to tell if your baby is getting enough, and learn practical ways to make breastfeeding easier to achieve, and keep your sanity while doing it.

Infant Care & SLeep

Learn all about what to expect when bringing home a newborn, from diapering, to feeding & bathing, to navigating the complex world of infant sleep. I like to teach new parents how to put healthy sleep strategies in place so that they don't have to sleep train later. Learn all about your new baby's reflexes and behaviors so that you know what to expect when you come home from the hospital.

Other short classes can be tailor-made for you to include topics of your choosing. Popular choices include: babywearing, Grandparent classes, & restorative family sleep.

If birth is "natural", why do we need to take a class? Won't my hospital class cover everything I need to know?

Maybe not.

It may surprise you to learn that 98% of laboring mothers in hospitals are NOT having a textbook "natural" birth. Hospital staff are used to medically managing birth, and may not be familiar with, or have time for, helping you cope with labor. Knowing ahead of time what to expect and how to optimize your birth environment is key.

Let's discover together what YOU need to birth on your terms.
